Salone del Mobile 2018 will be defined by a new concept of system building that embraces the best Milanese tradition to bridge style, industry and aesthetics.
Think of it as the Futurist’s Manifesto 3.0. Italy’s penchant for revolution is part of its ‘Made in Italy’ heritage and so it’s no surprise that it’s decidedly taken up the 21st century call to push ‘design’ forward with signature verve and aplomb – and the very first Salone del Mobile.Milano.
Manifesto promises to elevate the show from a trade fair to a creative experience.
With 205,000 m2 of net exhibition space and over 2000 exhibitors (including 650 SaloneSatellite designers) – 22% of whom are from abroad – the 57th edition of Salone del Mobile.Milano (17-22 April at Fiera Milano, Rho) is the furnishing sector’s premier showcase for quality, innovation and creativity, and features a packed programme of events and projects throughout the city.
Claudio Luti, President of Salone del Mobile, explains: “The first Manifesto is a commitment to continue striving to do better and is an invitation to Milan, the city at the centre of it all, where it all first began, to keep networking and growing together, to keep building on the centripetal and attractive power of the Salone and consolidate the city’s role as ‘the place to be’ for leading brands, their projects and their human and financial resources.”
