Born in Bogotá, capital of Colombia, Rafa Fonseca is an artist of the artistic movement of Hyperrealism. He is also a painter, architect, and musician. From an early age Rafa showed interest in drawing, exploring various techniques and materials, especially graphite. Rafa studied architecture at the Catholic University of Colombia and here, in the final semesters of his university degree, he discovered his interest in the airbrush. It was after his degree that Rafa leaned towards hyperrealism, fascinated by the precision and detail in the images. Inspiration comes from the gazes of living beings, both animal and human.
