Ashok Leyland Ltd. is expanding its tipper range. The Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) recently introduced a new product to its existing tipper mix. Adding to the Intermediate Commercial Vehicle (ICV) segment, the Ecomet Star 1415, the first seven cubic metre sits alongside the five and six cubic metre variants in the range. The tipper range was earlier launched as the Ecomet Star 1015 Tipper (five cubic metre) and Ecomet Star 1215 Tipper (six cubic metre). Commenting on the new launch, Sanjeev Kumar, Head- M&HCV, Ashok Leyland Ltd., said, "The ICV tipper segment is seeing a spurt in demand due to the focus on infrastructure in Northeast and hilly regions and an increased construction activity in rural regions pan India." "The ICV tippers are most preferred due to better manoeuvrability in narrow roads and easy accessibility to loading and unloading sites," he explained.
