The I-Save tech from Volvo Trucks is tailored for higher fuel-efficiency and to provide the transport operator with a better chance at earning higher profitability.
With close to 80 per cent of the goods in Europe transported by road, trucks are continuing to be the main stay of the transportation system in the sub continent. They are covering increasingly longer distances in line with the changing expectations and market requirements. Tiding over challenges, transport operators in Europe are finding new ways of making more money, and of achieving better profitability. To help save transport operators to make more money in the face of the rising fuel costs, Volvo Trucks has designed and developed I-Save. With many transport operators asking for higher fuel efficiency in a bid to reduce operational cost, the I-Save tech Volvo Trucks has developed is not exactly standalone. It is coupled with the modern D13TC engine, and features pistons with a patented wave-shaped interior that improves combustion and increases efficiency by guiding heat and energy to the centre of the cylinders. Producing 300 Nm extra torque, the D13TC engine requires less acceleration. This, in-turn ensures that less fuel is needed to keep a steady speed in highway traffic.
