ON THE MOST extreme race car circuits around the globe you find the world’s greatest racing talent, exceptional men and women who have catapulted into the winner’s circle with godlike talent and sheer determination.
Such is the case of racing legend Bob Bondurant. His fearlessness enabled him to crush the status quo each time he piloted his race car across the finish line first. During the course of his racing career, which spanned more than 30 years, Bondurant outran the competition and raised the bar of racing to seemingly greater heights with each win.
Born in 1933 in the heart of the Midwest, Bondurant always had a love for motorsports. But his first, official foray into racing started when he was 18, after moving to the West Coast. At the time he owned an Indian Scout motorcycle, which he raced at circuits near his home in Los Angeles. In 1959, he transitioned to sports car racing behind the wheel of a Morgan. “Looking back, I realize my racing career was a long path as much as it was an incredible journey,” says Bondurant. “But I always remained persistent, realizing my small victories fueled and motivated me to keep pushing to be the very best driver I could.”
