1955 Chevy Belair 2 Door Sedan.
The Belair is a well known nameplate, especially to those die hard Chevy fans. The Belair began its production in 1950 and ran until production ended in 1975 however, due to popularity, the car continued production in Canada until 1981. What in todays terms are known as the tri Five Chevys are those of the 1955/1956/1957 era and are sought after by many collectors as they are seen as the Golden years of the Belair.
This vehicle is a 1955 2 door Sport Sedan as seen by its post instead of the 2 door hardtop which was a pillarless variant. The 2 door sport Sedan was famous for use in racing as it had the rigidity of having the B pillar allowing for less flex on the car. One can see many street and drag cars in this trim.
Now to get to the car we have before us. It started with Creative Rides as a “Plain Jane” in that it needed spray work and the interior left a lot to be desired. However, one can say they were off to a good start as the vehicle already had a fantastic 400ci motor mated to a 400 Turbo box giving the car some fantastic power and allowing an almost muscle car feel in an elegant body. The team then decided on a scheme that they felt would give credit to this car. After much homework a design was chosen and implemented.
