Cruisers can help improve scientific knowledge about the health of our oceans while going sailing.
Science while you sail

In a partnership set up between the Ocean Cruising Club (OCC) and the GOES Foundation (Global Oceanic Environmental Survey), sailors are invited to take part in a citizen science ocean initiative that will help answer questions that are too difficult or too expensive for oceanographic ships to collect.

Participating ocean sailors will collect and examine water samples, then send the data back to be analysed.

The process of collection and analysis could be interesting for family crews or anyone else wanting to play an active role in understanding and improving the state of our oceans.
