Citi’s Asia CEO francisco Aristeguieta builds the bank’s regional success.
In June, Citibank Indonesia celebrated its 50th anniversary of being in the country. To support this special event, Citigroup Asia Chief Executive Francisco Aristeguieta visited Jakarta in April. As the Asia CEO, he is responsible for Citi’s businesses in 12 markets in APAC and five in Europe, Middle East, and Africa. Francisco arrives in Jakarta as Citibank Indonesia is doing well in the country on its golden anniversary. Led by Citi’s Indonesian head Batara Sianturi, Citibank Indonesia’s net profit for the full-year 2017 rose 10% to Rp 2.5 trillion—coming from a combination of net interest income up 5% to Rp 4.3 trillion and fee-based income gaining 7% to Rp 2.1 trillion. Citibank Indonesia’s business was almost equally split between its institutional and consumer banking—54% and 46% respectively. The bank’s risk profile improved as well, with net NPLs dropping to 0.54% from 0.94% year on year.
