Connecting The Dots
Indian Management|May 2017

Real-time engagement has been a common marketing trend for a while now.

Connecting The Dots
Communication modes between the marketer and customers have progressed to live streaming and instant feedback. While this tool helps cater to customers with least turnaround time, companies have realised the need to engage with their internal customers too. Primarily a marketing tool, real-time engagement can also be used to connect with the workforce.

HR Technology Disruptions for 2017 (a report released by Josh Bersin Principal at Bersin by Deloitte), talks of explosion in real time engagement as one of the nine trends organisations and HR professionals must wake up to. Technology has been embraced by large organisations to bring perfection to HR, then why not use this tool to connect with employees? HR is now shifting from traditional approaches and adopting modern technology to create the ‘feel good factor’ and improve workplace life. HR solutions must focus on employee engagement, increasing productivity, encouraging innovation, coaching, and creating feedback mechanisms to measure performance, and make way for learning and progress of the employees.

Business has risen to the fact that the more you engage your people and connect with them, the more strengths you can derive out of them. Employee insights could be gathered after any activity or event, based on which proactive steps can be taken.
