Montblanc’s Augmented Paper is an elegant tool for digitizing your handwriting.
Several years ago, Montblanc unveiled a unique computerized technology that analyzed one’s hand-writing characteristics in terms of writing pressure, writing speed, pen angle, pen rotation, and swing angle so that the company could recommend a nib that was especially suited to the writer. The nibs were called bespoke nibs. Recently, Montblanc has announced that it will make flexible nibs available in its bespoke program.
Now, Montblanc has a fascinating new product— Augmented Paper—that combines conventional manual writing and digital technology so that handwriting can be brought into the digital world. A lined paper notebook comes in a computerized box with a special Montblanc StarWalker ballpoint pen. One then obtains a Montblanc Hub app on a smartphone, tablet, or laptop computer. The notebook’s augmented lined paper comes with a soft black Italian leather “envelope” that has folding flaps and a holder for the StarWalker ballpoint pen. The bottom of the envelope is computerized so that it can be charged with a USB cable and connected to a Montblanc Hub app (mine is on my smartphone), available at any app store.
