SAIL dispatches R260 grade vanadium alloyed special rails
SAIL’s Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) has successfully rolled Vanadium alloyed special grade Rails, R260 grade for the Indian Railways. It is for the first time in the Country that SAIL flagged off the first rake of R260 grade Vanadium alloyed high strength 260 meter rails to the Indian Railways, capable of delivering higher speed and bearing higher axle load.
The first rake was flagged off on June 30 by Anirban Dasgupta, Director (P&BP) with additional charge of CEO, BSP.

September crude steel production up 7.2% y-o-y
