If you believe that journey is your destination, you must travel. And, it doesn’t come cheap. It’s a costly hobby. But you cannot avoid that. Rather, one should not avoid travel. Travel within the country and travel abroad to widen your horizons and enhance knowledge.
The Leave Travel Allowances given by your paymasters are a pittance. They don’t match your expenditure, if you want to quench your thirst for travel in its real sense.
Here are a few tips that can enable you to afford a travel. When you are nurturing a travel ambition, please don’t pursue an EMI option or a loan for travel. They are low-hanging fruits. Maybe, more often than not they are easily accessible. But the huge burden they cast on your expenses even out your expenditure for essentials and emergencies and you will be left with none.
So, better plan your travel much ahead and always. Follow these few tips to have an enjoyable travel that doesn’t pinch your picket. Cut down on expenditure. Save every pie that you can. When you read the tips, you would realise how much of a wasteful expenditure most people, you and I including, indulge in.
Estimate the expenditure
Understand the ballpark estimate of the place(s) you propose to visit. It has three immediate allied points you need to figure out: With whom, how long and when.
Let’s dig in to the three points first.
Who are you going with? Is it your family? Or your friends? Are there kids in the entourage? Or, are all of those elders? What are their specific needs, material and medical. Once there is a clarity on these points, the number of tickets, accommodation to be booked and insurance to be purchased can be figured out.
