After being left with crippling debts, Deborah Wales, 70, had to find a new way to make money for her beloved animals
Carefully tending to her flock of sheep, Deborah Wales had always vowed she would do anything for her beloved animals. So when she started struggling to pay her bills, the 70-year-old found the perfect way to boost her pension – by becoming an escort. Now, Deborah visits around 20 men a week, has a salary of £30,000 a year and says she can finally give her sheep – plus her doves and rabbits – the lives they’ve always dreamed of.
Deborah, who lives alone in Chester, says, “I live a double life. I spend my days caring for all my animals, but by night I’m an escort. Men pay up to £70 an hour for my services – anything from a chat, to a massage, to full sex. And all of them are delighted when they see me dressed in my basque, stockings and a thong. It can be tiring, but if I wasn’t an escort then my home might be repossessed and the animals would be homeless. It’s my only option.”
ABANDONED
Up until April 2008, Deborah – who is currently single – had a fairly normal life. She says, “I first got married when I was 25 but, tragically, seven years later, my husband died from a heart disorder. I was griefstricken. He also left me with some debts, but I managed to make ends meet as a supply teacher for children with special needs. Over the next few years I had one or two short-term relationships, but nothing worked out.”
Then, in 1999, aged 50, Deborah started a master’s degree in environmental science, and met her ex-partner, William*, 60, through friends.
