Why prince agreed to pay teen who accused him of rape

SLEAZEBALL Prince Andrew settled his rape lawsuit with Virginia Roberts Giuffre — the former teen sex slave of his pedophile pal Jeffrey Epstein — because he feared exposing his darkest deeds in a sworn court testimony, sources say.

The 62-year-old royal is believed to have paid Giuffre more than $10 million to stop her Manhattan civil suit, which would have subjected Andrew to an embarrassing noholds-barred deposition.

British criminal lawyer Anna Rothwell says: “It is not surprising Prince Andrew has settled Ms. Giuffre’s civil claim. It would have proven a painful deposition for the prince.”

Adds a royal insider, “Andrew has been doing everything to keep from having to testify under oath. Up until now, he’d completely denied knowing Giuffre or that Epstein was dealing in underage girls.

“But Andrew partied with Epstein for years and stayed at his homes and flew on his planes surrounded by the billionaire’s young harem.

“He was going to have to tell what he saw — and what he did — under oath.

“He had to settle.”
