The showbiz world was shocked when Brad totally snubbed Renee, 50, at the Oscars nominees lunch – but our spies say he was simply “obeying orders”.

Just days earlier, the rumour mill went wild over claims on the website Blind Gossip that Renee had been trying her luck with Brad, 56, at the SAG Awards last month, approaching him not once, but three times for a date.

“She was totally laser-focused on him,” an onlooker told the website of the “well-known actress”, who many speculated was Renee. “And she was rubbing his arm up and down.”
