LOWLIFE Matt Lauer's big-bucks divorce and high-maintenance girlfriend have put the fallen star in a serious cash crunch, sources tell The National ENQUIRER.
The former "Today" host, 64, has been burning through his savings since losing his $30 million-a-year job in 2017, and sources say he's in a panic trying to keep his 53-year-old publicist girlfriend, Shamin Abas, happy.
"Matt's savings are dwindling and he's trying to hold on to his most valuable assets even if it hurts," spills an insider. "But Shamin likes living the high life, and it's getting in the way of his cost-cutting.
"He's in a real quandary. He's desperate to downsize his lifestyle, but he's also desperate to keep Shamin from leaving him because she thinks he's a cheapskate."
