She may be best known for her role as hotel manager Janey York in Benidorm, but acting is just one string to Crissy Rock’s bow. The Scouse star was a regular on the Benidorm stand-up circuit before she joined the hit ITV sitcom, plus she’s a best-selling author and is also penning a TV comedy she hopes to get commissioned.
When we call the bubbly 61-year-old for a catch-up, she’s taking a stroll with her husband Julian Buck, who she married in a movie-themed wedding in 2018. She tells us she’s doing more walking because she recently embarked on an NHS weight loss plan in a bid to shed those lockdown pounds.
“I’m a size 14 to 16, but I’m a stupid shape as I’m bigger across the back and then I’ve got no waist. I’m more of a log than an apple or pear!” she laughs.
