Lauren Goodger came under fire from TOWIE fans who dubbed her “disrespectful” after she posted a string of throwback pictures featuring ex-fiancé Mark Wright on Instagram. But now a friend close to Lauren has told new she’s shrugged off the backlash, insisting that she is truly happy for Mark and his wife Michelle Keegan.
The snaps included loved-up shots of Lauren and Mark on the red carpet at the 2011 BAFTAs, where the reality show famously won a coveted gong.
“Lauren and Mark were a huge part of TOWIE, so why wouldn’t she post pictures of them together?” our insider explained.
“Lauren’s happy for Mark and Michelle, there are no hard feelings there at all. He was a massive part of her time on the show – she’s sure fans understand that. You can’t erase the past!”
To commemorate the 10th anniversary of TOWIE hitting our screens, Lauren, 33, told followers she was proud of what the show had achieved.
“I was 22 when I first started filming and what an amazing journey this has been!” she said. “I put my life on national television and we won a BAFTA – not a lot of people can say that!
“You’ve seen me laugh, cry, engaged, break ups and make ups! I’ve grown up on the screens and it was all real!”
