Like many other stars at this testing time, Chrissy Teigen is doing her best to spread a little cheer online.
The 34-year-old has launched Chrissy’s Court, a bite-sized show on new video-streaming app Quibi, where she sits in judgment of small claims cases. Alongside her mum Vilailuck, who acts as her bailiff, the show features real people and real disputes with trials carried out with a huge dose of humour. Judge Rinder, eat your heart out!
A huge star on social media, model Chrissy – married to singer John Legend and mum to Luna, four, and two-year-old Miles – is no stranger to the power of posting to the masses.
With more than 28 million followers on Instagram and 12 million on Twitter, Chrissy often has her fans laughing at her outspoken views on everything from politics to body image. However, one thing she has ruled out doing is reality TV. “I’d be too scared,” she says. “I don’t want to get into trouble!”
Here, the busy mum talks about her new role as a judge, her approach to social media and mental health and what it’s like to share a home with the official Sexiest Man Alive…
Hi Chrissy! How important is it to connect with other people online at this particular time?
Very. Everyone is trying to figure out how they’re going to make it. No one knows what’s happening. Nobody has all the answers. All we can do is keep each other company, have fun and make the best of what we’re going through.
So how did Chrissy’s Court come about?
