Harry Redknapp may have been crowned King of the Jungle after winning I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2018, but he’s certainly not envious of this year’s campmates, who are filming the show in Wales.
In fact, he admits that one of the main reasons he agreed to take part in the show was because he knew it would be sunny down under! “It was better to be out in the sunshine than be in the rain all day, for sure!” he tells us. Too right, Hazza.
But the much-loved former football manager still has his eye on this year’s campers, and he has a particular soft spot for Mo Farah, having met him through Soccer Aid. “He’s a lovely person,” he says.
Harry, 73, also tells us that he and his beloved Sandra have adjusted well to life in lockdown, revealing his wife spends a lot of time on Zoom chatting to her pals. “I don’t know what they talk about,” he admits, laughing. And they’ve used it to keep in touch with their grandkids, too.
However, after years of cooking the entire Redknapp clan Christmas dinner, Sandra is having a break this year. Instead, they’ve decided to go out in their hometown of Sandbanks with – restrictions permitting – as many members of their family as possible. And Harry is clearly looking forward to it.
Here, Harry – who’s currently starring in a Christmas advert for Footasylum – tells us how his son Jamie, 47, sometimes annoys his mum with his cheeky jokes and says Sandra can have anything she wants for Christmas (if the price is right)…
Harry, I’m A Celebrity is in full swing – have you put a bet on anyone winning?
