Since his 2012 divorce from Katie Holmes, Tom Cruise has been at the centre of romance whispers, on and off, with female co-stars – but has never confirmed a thing. But as the 54-year-old father-of three nears five years of singledom, a series of women have come forward to reveal how his beloved Scientology may have sabotaged any real chance Tom has of finding love.

‘We didn’t know we were auditioning to be Tom Cruise’s girlfriend, but we found out afterward,’ reveals former Scientologist Cathy Schenkelberg. ‘The church hires actors inside the church to do videos to disseminate Scientology. In 2003, I was called in to audition for “a video,”’ she explains.
