Kym Marsh and Scott Ratcliff’s honeymoon couldn’t have come at a better time. After only getting to spend two days together following their wedding in October before Army Major Scott was sent overseas, a week of uninterrupted quality time was just what they needed.
The newlyweds jetted off to the Caribbean to the stunning Sandals Grenada Resort & Spa for seven days of sun, sea and romance. And Scott admits that the break was the first time they were able to let it fully sink in that they are actually married.
“On honeymoon it felt like we could appreciate the fact we’re husband and wife. It was a wonderful feeling,” he says. Former Coronation Street star Kym, who is mum to David, 26, Emilie, 24, and Polly, 10, adds, “It felt like I could properly celebrate being Mrs Ratcliff!”
The couple tied the knot in front of 150 guests in an emotional ceremony held at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. The big day, which was exclusively covered by OK!, saw Kym being walked down the aisle by her dad, Dave, 76, who just months before had been diagnosed with terminal prostate cancer.
Now they’re back in the UK, Kym, 45, and Scott, 33, who is dad to daughter Renée, six, from a previous relationship, are back to the day jobs. Kym is busy rehearsing for a new play, Fatal Attraction, in which she stars as the iconic Alex Forrest, although she won’t address rumours she’s Firework in this series of The Masked Singer following fan speculation.
Here, we catch up with the couple who reflect on their favourite memories from their wedding day and open up to OK! about their romantic week in paradise…
