Corrie Chameleon: ‘My Dad Would Have Been Very Proud'

Coronation Street’s newest signing will mellor talks about walking the famous cobbles and why he always carries a part of his late dad with him

Actor Will Mellor is a rare breed of celebrity – a completely open book who answers every question with total honesty. So, when OK! catches up with him to chat about his new role as drug gang boss Harvey on ITV’s Coronation Street, it’s only a matter of time before he’s speaking candidly about other things close to his heart.

But it’s when he speaks about his late dad Bill, who died in April last year, that Will, 44, understandably gets choked up. However, in a touching tribute, Will explains he’s chosen to wear his late dad’s ring as part of his costume to keep him close at all times.

“The fact I can wear it on Corrie means he stays with me all the time,” the Two Pints Of Lager And A Packet Of Crisps star says.

Here, Will, who is married to dancer Michelle and dad to Jayden, 17, and Renee, 13, opens up on how the role helped put a smile on his face after a tough year, and whether we’ll ever see a Two Pints reunion.
