With a lifestyle that includes dates with Kim Kardashian and sleepovers with bestie Whoopi Goldberg, American-born TV personality and author Paul Wharton shouldn’t have any trouble settling into our British celebrity circle, as he prepares for his UK debut on ITVBe’s celebrity show, Totally Unbelievable.
Famed for presenting and starring in MTV and Bravo shows in the States, and hosting Fox TV’s Emmy-nominated series Home For The Holidays, Paul has flown across the pond in search of a new life in London, where he hopes to become the new Graham Norton.
When we speak to the 43-year-old, he’s Zooming us from his stunning Chelsea triplex home, surrounded by beautiful bouquets of flowers. He tells us his local florist is his “new best friend”.
A joyous Paul fills us in on his colourful life hanging out with some of Hollywood’s top A-listers and talks us through his incredible showbiz anecdotes. When asked about his most interesting celeb encounter, he excitedly says, “I went on a date with Kim Kardashian. And I know what you’re thinking, but a gentleman never tells!”
Here, the glowing TV presenter talks downing tequila shots with Oprah, his emotional reunion with idol Patti LaBelle, and how befriending Stevie Wonder changed his outlook on life…
Paul, tell us about your new home…
