‘I DON'T WANT TO RUIN PIERS' REPUTATION, BUT HE'S ACTUALLY NICE!'
When we chat over Zoom to TV and radio host Charlotte Hawkins, it’s mid-afternoon and she’s having a cup of coffee in her gorgeous Surrey home. Despite her super early wake-up call to present ITV breakfast show Good Morning Britain – which she’s been a part of since it launched six years ago – the 45-year-old is looking impressively immaculate.

The star, who is married to Mark Herbert, is waiting for their five-year-old daughter Ella to come home from school. She can’t hide her excitement either as Christmas is a very special time for the family, and the decorations have started to go up in their home.

“It’s our favourite time of the year,” Charlotte tells us. “And even though everyone will remember it as the coronavirus Christmas, I want to ensure Ella has a magical time, as for everyone, adults and kids alike, this year has been so difficult.”

For someone who has been up since 2.30am, there’s no hint of the early-morning start taking its toll on the newsreader. In fact, Charlotte is buzzing with excitement at the prospect of her new album, which is launching just in time for the festive season.
