If there was ever a celebrity who deserved a fresh start for 2020, it’s Kirsty Gallacher. The beautiful TV presenter has been through some tough times lately, battling with the stressful aftermath of her divorce and trying to find a new balance between work and family life.
The year started brightly, with Kirsty settling into her dream Berkshire country house with her sons Oscar, 13, and Jude, 10, ready to enjoy the freedom of freelance life after two decades at Sky Sports. Then lockdown happened, and it’s changed Kirsty in more ways than she expected.
We caught up with her to find out how she’s looking and feeling better than ever at 44…
Kirsty, we hear you had a tricky start to lockdown…
Yes, I caught the coronavirus and I was really unwell just as we were going into lockdown. I was wiped out for a good month and felt very anxious. It’s such a lonely illness when you’re having to stay apart from your children.
How did you cope with that?
Lockdown has been a really big reset button. I’ve found ways to deal with being by myself, like going for a really long walk or reading. I’ve had to deal with that anxiety, and I feel like maybe, touch wood, I’ve cracked that one, which is rather wonderful. It’s taken years.
