Rylan Clark-Neal is without a doubt the busiest man in showbusiness. As well as his Radio 2 gig, he’s dominated our screens over the last 12 months with presenting stints on You Are What You Wear, Supermarket Sweep, Ready Steady Cook and Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two.
Fortunately for the popular 31-year-old, the unprecedented situation of the last few months has allowed the star more quality time with his husband of four years, Dan Neal, who is dad to son Cameron, 20.
But, being the workaholic he is, Rylan hasn’t been totally taking it easy during lockdown. The former X Factor contestant recently teamed back up with his beloved mum Linda for another round of Celebrity Gogglebox, although it’s his celebration of Big Brother’s 20th anniversary that has truly made our summer. Rylan, who was crowned Celebrity Big Brother winner back in 2013, joined forces with Davina McCall to present Big Brother: Best Shows Ever last month, and the nostalgic run has prompted calls for the original reality series to make a comeback.
Of course, there is always some controversy wherever Big Brother is concerned, and Rylan and Davina faced something of a backlash when fan favourite and winner Brian Dowling felt he wasn’t acknowledged as a former presenter of the show during a conversation between the pair and Emma Willis. Proving himself ever the gentleman, Rylan later clarified, “I was just using that opportunity as a fan to ask that question with the two people in front of me... I’ve a lot of love for Brian and would hate for him to be feeling upset.”
