Lockdown has proved to be a challenging time for many of us, but Strictly star Katya Jones insists the experience has been invaluable for proving she is truly content on her own.
“I am my own soulmate,” the 31-year-old tells OK!. Last August, the star split from her husband Neil Jones ten months after she was pictured kissing her then Strictly dance partner Seann Walsh.
But the pair have yet to finalise their divorce and have remained close friends as they coparent their beloved dog Crumble. “We were always best friends and always will be best friends,” she says.
It’s no surprise that Katya has used her positivity for good, teaming up with best friends Joanne Clifton and Sasha Latoya to launch Beyond Lockdown Empire, a self-help course that has since been turned into a book.
Here, the star talks about finding happiness on her own and why her thirties are her best decade yet...
How has lockdown been for you?
It’s actually been such a good time for me. I really like my own company and I’ve enjoyed this time. I’ve obviously missed being around people but it’s been a really big learning experience on my own.
