We thought we’d seen it all when it comes to TV presenting pairs – from This Morning’s giggly best friends Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, to those warring frenemies Susanna Reid and Piers Morgan on Good Morning Britain.

But there are two new kids on the block out to steal their daytime crowns now that Kym Marsh and Gethin Jones have joined forces to front a new lifestyle show, BBC One’s Morning Live.

And after being in their company for just five minutes at OK!’s exclusive shoot, it doesn’t take a genius to work out why former Corrie star Kym, 44, and Welsh charmer Gethin, 42, are a TV match made in heaven.

With genuine warmth, being relatable and sibling-style banter, the duo have carved out a new niche for themselves on the small screen.

But don’t just take our word for it. The whopping 1 million-plus viewers speak for themselves, and the show also topped the ratings war against ITV’s Lorraine during its first week on air – a massive achievement that the pair aren’t taking for granted.

“I’m so glad it’s been well received but we’ve only just started,” Gethin says of their eight-week run. “We’re learning loads and trying to get better every day.”

Here, Kym, who is in a relationship with Scott Ratcliff, and single Gethin chat to us about their shared sense of humour, how Gethin’s already signed Kym up for next year’s Strictly and why Kym isn’t the best when it comes to playing Cupid…
