At B&B Since: 2013 Has Also Directed For: ALL MY CHILDREN

How did you get your start as a director? "I ran the gamut. I started out back on the East Coast at ABC in the '90s and I was on the management track, but I got involved in production through the people I met. I made the jump and became the production assistant at ALL MY CHILDREN and because I had control room duties as a PA, I taught myself editing and got the opportunity to become an assistant director/editor there. Julie Carruthers [then-executive producer) pushed me into directing a lot of remote locations at a marina in Long a Island and that's how I started directing. When they made the decision to move the show from New York to California, at first I actually said no, but they kept at me and told me I could set up the whole edit room and I'd be directing a lot more, which was great. So, I decided to move to California for what was supposed to be a long career at ALL MY CHILDREN and as you know, a year later they canceled the show."

How did you end up at B&B? “I worked on HOLLYWOOD HEIGHTS and I got to meet the great Cindy Popp[a B&B producer/director). I was the only AD in the booth and I edited. When that show went off the air, it was about a month or two later, Cindy called and asked if I'd be interested in coming to see how they edit at B&B and, of course, I was. I started editing here and after a couple of years, I had expressed my interest about directing again, and Brad [Bell, executive producer/head writer] was kind enough to give me the opportunity and I ran with it."
