Elizabeth Hendrickson On Y&R Return

A changing of the guard at Y&R was an optimistic sign to soap vet Elizabeth Hendrickson (ex-Margaux, GH et al) that reprising the role of Chloe Mitchell could be in the works.

“When I saw [Head Writer] Josh Griffith was coming back to Y&R, I had a feeling that some other characters would be returning,” notes the actress, who first aired as the daughter of Katherine Chancellor’s maid, Esther, in 2008 and has played Chloe off and on ever since. “I knew that it was a possibility, but I was still pleasantly surprised when I got the phone call because Y&R looked a little different than what it used to be. I also think change is great and change is healthy and that it needs to happen, but I did find that there were certain characters that really deserved and needed to still represent Y&R. I was hoping Josh was going to make those changes and he did.”

Chloe was last seen in 2017 after she staged her death to avoid prosecution for Adam’s murder. She and Kevin then moved to Oregon with their daughter, Bella. “There wasn’t much cause for Chloe to be around,” Hendrickson concedes. “A lot of her ties were not there, as well. The Fisher family wasn’t on the canvas all that much since I had left, so I had a feeling that there wasn’t a need for some Chloe drama.”
