Brooke Takes Over Forester, 1993
• Why It’s Tops: Payback’s a bitch! After years of being the target of Stephanie’s physical and emotional abuse, Brooke stood up for herself and wrested control of Forrester Creations. Fans were thrilled to see Brooke take charge and no longer play the victim in this true David vs. Goliath tale.
How It Went Down: In 1991, Brooke was on fire when she developed a revolutionary anti-wrinkle formula for FC. Elated, she and Ridge impulsively made love in the lab, despite the fact that she was married to his father, Eric. She was unaware that their tryst was recorded on a security camera. Stephanie obtained the footage and tried to blackmail Brooke into leaving Eric. The following year, Eric named the formula after its creator, BeLieF (using the initials of Brooke Logan Forrester). In 1993, things really heated up when the Forresters realized they had no patent on BeLieF. So, they plotted to trick Brooke into signing over her rights. Eric sent in his attorney, Steve, who pretended to be a masseur to acquire info about Brooke’s plans. Brooke’s new beau, attorney Connor, became her legal counsel. Brooke, however, trusted Ridge when he asked that she sign papers that unwittingly gave up her control of BeLieF. But in a huge twist of fate, Brooke signed only one copy of the document, not both, and Ridge left — with the unsigned copy! After Stephanie gloated about Brooke’s lack of business acumen, Brooke revealed her signed copy, then smiled as she shredded it so they could never use it against her.
