Susan Walters Has Built Up Quite A Resumé Outside Of Daytime.
Susan Walters fittingly began her TV career in 1983 with the debut of a new soap, LOVING, where she played the scheming Lorna for three years and met her future hubby. After she left, the actress springboarded to primetime television where, she demurs, “I’ve been lucky.”
From movies to guest appearances on episodics to being a regular cast member on a few series, Walters was in demand, but her steady work didn’t jibe with her schedule as a mom. “I had done a movie for the Disney Channel [HORSE SENSE] and I was doing the sequel [JUMPING SHIP],” she recalls. “It shot in Australia and I was petrified to fly back then which, thank God, I’m not anymore, so I flew there and was gone for a week. When I got home, I called my manager and said, ‘Get me on a soap!’ I had two daughters in middle school and I wanted to see them in either the morning or the afternoon. That’s when I got on YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS and I loved it because I saw my family every day. It was great.”
