Lorna Maseko is plating perfect parties and get-togethers in season 2 of The Hostess.
If season 1 of lifestyle cooking show The Hostess With Lorna Maseko (2017-current) was the starters, viewers are tucking into their main course in this instalment. And it is going to be “packed with punch and tons of flavour,” says kitchen queen Lorna. The actress and presenter, who also hosted season 1 of reality cooking show Top Chef SA (2016-current), adds that “getting a second season attests to the show and that the formula works. A core element is that I want to cook and prepare food the way I do in my own kitchen. Viewers want to see that food is accessible and easy for them to try at home, no matter how complex it first sounds. I want to continue that.”
Has the show’s success made you the designated chef and hostess with your friends?
[Laughs] That’s what they think. But I’m always calling my friends asking what they’ve cooked or if I can go to their restaurants to pick up food.
