Ed Sheeran - ‘Fatherhood has CHANGED ME'

He recently released the first single off his new album, is currently putting the finishing touches to his fifth long player and turned 30 in February, but Ed Sheeran says his biggest milestone of late has been becoming a dad to daughter Lyra Antarctica.

The singer and wife Cherry Seaborn welcomed their first child in August last year, and while he remains resolute about keeping his little one out of the spotlight despite his superstar status, Sheeran hasn’t been able to stop gushing about how lifechanging parenthood has been for him.

“As soon as Cherry told me she was pregnant, life shifted, in terms of work and health and what I was putting into my body, be it food or alcohol,” Sheeran recently told BBC Radio 1’s Greg James. “I started exercising more and my routine became a bit more healthy.”

Although the singer has often spent late nights recording while working on new projects, he says his latest album was done on a strictly “9 to 5” schedule. “It actually freaks out producers,” he explained. “I was in Los Angeles working with these producers that usually start working at 6pm and finish at 6am with people like Post Malone and Dua [Lipa] … I was like, ‘Yeah, we’re starting at 9am.’ And they were like, ‘What?’ But I do find you get more done.”
