Inside Hollywood's Biggest Scandal

It was the scandal that shocked the world and put Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman behind bars. And a new documentary from Netflix is about to shine a light on what really went down during the 2019 college admissions scandal in the US.

Named after the FBI investigation that resulted in over 50 of America’s most wealthy and elite citizens being indicted, Operation Varsity Blues goes beyond the celebrity-driven headlines to reveal how the scam’s enigmatic mastermind pulled it off.

William “Rick” Singer was paid over $32 million between 2011 to 2018 by desperate parents who wanted to secure spots for their kids at some of the most prestigious universities in the US, including Harvard and North Western. The college admissions counsellor, who had over two decades of experience, told his clients he’d created a “side door” for admission – but the reality was far more sinister.

As Assistant US Attorney Justin O’Connell told the court during Loughlin’s sentencing, the privileged mum who already had every resource at her disposal had “opted to cheat so her children could steal two admissions spots from more capable, deserving students”.
