Appearing shortly after 5pm at a wedding venue and convention centre in North Charleston, South Carolina, rapper Kanye West kicked off his first presidential campaign event on July 19 with a rambling speech filled with bizarre remarks and controversial comments. With ‘2020’ shaved into his hairline and wearing a flak jacket, he spoke off the cuff – and without a microphone – for about an hour. While elaborating on his pro-life stance, he spoke about how he and his wife Kim Kardashian West considered aborting daughter North, who was born in 2013, before the couple wed in 2014. “Kim is shocked that Kanye spoke about North at the rally,” a source tells WHO’s sister magazine People. “She is furious that he shared something so private.”

A second insider adds that the couple’s relationship is now on the rocks, saying, “things have broken down significantly between the two of them, and it’s happened pretty suddenly”.
