From the time they started dating, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have continually contended with social media’s dark side. In 2016, Harry confirmed his relationship with the former Suits actress for the first time when he released an unprecedented statement griping about the “outright sexism and racism” of social media trolls and web article comments.

Since stepping down as senior royals, the pair have only amplified their outrage about harmful online habits. In October, Meghan opened up in a podcast interview about the “almost unsurvivable” hate she has faced, noting she had been told that in 2019 she was “the most trolled person in the entire world – male or female”.
