Reese Witherspoon - HOW SHE MAKES IT WORK

The sunshine just got a little brighter,” Reese Witherspoon said on Instagram on February 23, hinting that exciting things were coming her way. The celebratory post came as the star revealed that her media empire, Hello Sunshine, had acquired domestic organisation company The Home Edit.

The acquisition is just the latest in a long line of wins for the actress-turned-mogul, whose professional life has gone from strength. On August 2, 2021, Forbes magazine officially declared the Southern belle, 45, the world’s richest actress when she announced Hello Sunshine had been sold to private equity firm Blackstone for an eye-popping $1.2 billion. Founded by Witherspoon in 2016, the business includes Reese’s Book Club, a mobile book club app, and a film and TV production wing, which is behind hits such as Big Little Lies and Morning Wars.

Her work wins haven’t come without a personal cost, though. While the Legally Blonde star has prioritised her kids – 9-year-old son Tennessee, and the two children she shares with ex Ryan Phillippe, daughter Ava, 22, and son Deacon, 18 – her meteoric rise has taken a huge toll on her marriage to Jim Toth.
