IN BRIEF
Absolute Linux has multiple editions, with the main one based on Slackware's stable release. The project focuses on creating a desktop-friendly rendition of Slackware that's chock-full of tools to serve various different desktop use cases. The other unique aspect of the distro is its efforts to create a lightweight desktop.

Absolute Linux is one of the handfuls of distros that attempts to spin a vanilla Slackware release into a desktop distro that’s usable by mere mortals. The project’s namesake distro is based on the stable Slackware release, which has just received a major new update in the form of Slackware 15 (check our review in LXF287) six years after its last one, Slackware 14.2 in 2016.
