EVERYTHING IN COMPUTING IS POLARIZED. Nvidia or AMD? Apple or Windows? PC gaming or console? There’s a whole plethora of argument-inducing debates to be had and statements and brands to align yourself with. And that is very frustrating, because a lot of the time it genuinely gets in the way of real progress and learning. Nowhere is this more evident in computing than with the “debate” surrounding the application of thermal paste.

This journalist has to admit he didn’t always think like that. There was one way of applying thermal paste, and that was it.
