Facebook Messenger now offers the same convenience to its millions of Filipino users with the introduction of in-app mobile payments. No need for a bank account or an existing mobile money account to make a transaction.

Only Android users can pay bills via Messenger as of writing. (Don’t despair, loyal Apple users, this feature is set to launch on iOS real soon.)

To enable digital payments on the app, search GCash (@gcashofficial) or PayMaya (@paymayaofficial) on Facebook Messenger and click “Get Started.”
