Let’s warm ourselves up with another log on the fire, a trip to the hot tub and some wonderful winter woollies.
HEAD FOR THE HOT TUB
“WINTER is the best time to be in a hot tub because of the contrast of really cold weather while sitting in water heated up to 40°C. Hot tubs used to be thought of as part of a perceived luxury lifestyle, but hiring one is now more attainable,” declares Justin Howells.
His appreciation of hot tubs first developed after having one fitted in his own home. The installation proved popular. And not only with him: “We loved it, and so did my friends,” he smiles. “I’m sure it’s the only reason some of them came round!”
Note that we’re considering lolling about in lovely warm water, here. At the New Year there was a lot of interest in cold water swimming as a way to lift the spirits and battle depression and anxiety (it apparently triggers adrenalin and the endorphins which make us smile). But running down a pebble beach into icy cold waves is not everyone’s cup of frozen tea.
No, the hot tub sounds a much better bet and an understanding of the fun and relaxation stimulated by immersing in comfortingly warm water whilst outside in the elements prompted Justin to sense the opportunity of a business venture. As a result, Bucks Hot Tub Hire was established at the beginning of 2016. Now solid round hot tubs, complete with lighting and massage jets, are available for delivery to your home.
“We site the tub which, short term, can be placed on gravel, grass, decking or concrete. They run off a household socket. Once filled, the largest version holds 1,000 litres of water. We supply chemicals and instructions, but there is very little for the customer to do,” explains Justin
