TO THE NORTH OF CHICHESTER, THE GOODWOOD ESTATE IS FAMOUS FOR ITS SUMMER PROGRAMME OF EVENTS – AND ITS LONG AND ARISTOCRATIC HISTORY
Home to Goodwood House, seat of the Dukes of Richmond and Gordon for over 300 years, and the renowned Goodwood Motor Circuit and Racecourse, the Goodwood Estate is well-known for its vibrant events calendar.
Nestled at the foot of the South Downs, within a stone’s throw of historic Chichester – one of the UK’s best-preserved Georgian cities – it draws thousands of visitors each year thanks to highlight events which include the Festival of Speed, the Qatar Goodwood Festival (also known as Glorious Goodwood) and Goodwood Revival, when the motor circuit comes alive in period style to recreate the romance and glamour of motorracing’s heyday.
Goodwood is also home to two 18-hole golf courses, a hotel and country retreat, a health club, an aerodrome offering flying experiences and a sculpture park which displays a collection of large-scale modern sculpture in a woodland setting on Hat Hill.
