With his shopping app Zulzi, Donald Valoyi is expanding the limits of online shopping by offering a convenient service for busy people.
HE STARTED small in 2014, selling books and electronics to students online. Next he kicked off deliveries, pledging to get the goods to the customer within an hour of placing an order.
Today, Donald Valoyi employs 16 fulltime staff and 54 independent contractors. His company, Zulzi, has developed a mobile application with which people can order anything, from groceries and takeaways to medication and liquor.
The 31-year-old entrepreneur based in Fourways, in the north of Johannesburg, admits that it wasn’t easy in the beginning. One of the hardest things was to convince people to buy online, a platform that many still distrust.
But Donald’s passion for business inspired him to work harder.
“When I saw that the books and electronics were selling well online and my clients were happy with my services, I thought, ‘What about an app that can offer almost everything?’,” he remembers.
DONALD was inspired to create the app to help make people’s lives a bit simpler.
