Co-dependency is a result of a complex dynamic between the environments, the individual and is also a result of inter-generational trauma. We are now seeing a generation going through more mental illnesses than before, lacking the much needed coping responses and falling prey to co-dependent relationships as a way to feel better about them. Clinical psychologist Dr Prerna Kohli, founder of MindTribe.in, tells more about this type of relationship and how to recognise if you are in one, and how to outgrow it.

In such relationships, there is always one individual, who plays the role of the caregiver while the other keeps depending on this person for his or her needs. This type of relationship is highly turbulent, chaotic and yet gives us a feeling of being loved.
