The beginning of summer signals that schools will be closed for a significant number of days. Kids, of course, look forward to their summer break, but parents certainly need a strategy to get through the holiday months. It is especially challenging if both or even one parent is working or, worse, working from home. The children have a lot of spare time on their hands, and boredom is a major possibility. Here are some easy ways you can reclaim this summer for your kids and family.
SET ASIDE SOME TIME EVERY DAY
It is easier said than done, but, once you start putting this into practice, both you and your child will notice a change. Make them realise that this time period is for them alone. I try to spend one hour with my four-year-old just before dinner time, no matter how busy I am with work, says Divya Shree, a chartered accountant in Chennai. He has begun to realise that this is a time specifically for Mamma and him, and he really looks forward to it every day. She believes that this dedicated period will help your youngster relax and enjoy some much-needed downtime.
