SEAN GOBIN’S ‘WARRIOR EXPEDITIONS’ GIVE VETERANS A CHANCE TO HEAL IN NATURE’S SOLITUDE
Marine Corps veteran Sean Gobin fought long and hard as a U.S. tank commander— until surviving three brutal tours of combat duty in Iraq and Afghanistan finally left him “a mental wreck,” says Gobin, who struggled to make a normal life for himself after leaving the service in March 2012. “I was consumed with grief and rage. I lost the ability to trust even the people I was closest to.... In the service you pack everything in the back of your head. But if you don’t unpack it, it just stays there and festers.”
