In the show, de Pablo's tough, smart Mossad operative turned NCIS agent, presumed killed by an explosion in 2016 (de Pablo had already left, in 2013), made a surprise appearance in the Season 16 finale to warn her former boss Gibbs that his life was in danger. With Ziva now somewhat in charge, there was a bit of a role reversal going on.
