NEW DRAMA

Trigger Point Sunday, ITV HD, 9pm

Vicky McClure is reunited with Line of Duty creator Jed Mercurio in this new ITV drama about a pair of bomb-disposal experts battling to save London from a deadly terrorist plot.

The six-part series begins with a bang when Lana Washington (McClure) and her fellow operative, Joel Nutkins (Adrian Lester), are called to investigate a suspected bomb factory in a block of flats.

Lana and Joel bonded when they both served in the military in Afghanistan, and now work as explosives officers – known as an ‘expo’ – for the Metropolitan Police Bomb Disposal Squad.

EMERGENCY

At the flats, they discover that a young mother and her daughter have been tied up by masked intruders who told them to alert the police to a bomb threat.

After evacuating the property, Lana and Joel are shocked to discover a live device attached to a toilet with the capacity to raze the entire block of flats to the ground. Can the pair disable the device and prevent a disaster?

Meanwhile, as DI Thom Youngblood (Mark Stanley) and his team strive to evacuate more of the residents, the expos realise that the bomb is part of a wider terrorist conspiracy, and this incident has set the clock ticking on a city-wide bombing campaign.
